Cleckheaton & District Golf Club is very conveniently situated on the A638, 100 yards north-west of Junction 26 of the M62/M606 Chain Bar intersection in West Yorkshire. Our 18 hole, Dr Alister Mackenzie designed, parkland course is a real golfing gem. Well kept, it offers a real challenge to players of all abilities. We are within an hour’s drive of most golf clubs in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and Humberside.
Cleckheaton Golf Club was originally situated in Gomersal around the woodland area of Fanwood. In 1922 the Golf Club moved to its’ present location at Chain Bar.
We are a private members club with an active membership, friendly clubhouse atmosphere and very strong junior section. Visitors are always made welcome and can choose from a varied menu back in the clubhouse following their round. Our catering staff make us the envy of other clubs in the area.
There have been changes to the course in recent years thanks to The Captain’s Development Fund. On Captain’s Day, Saturday 18th June 2011, a new competition tee was opened on the 10th hole. This increased the yardage of the course to 5985 yards and the Par and CSS to 70.
